Day 18 - Double Bonus Poker

Video Poker. Feels like a real flash back to the poker machines I used to play as a teenager in the 80´s. And sure, they still look the same. Simple, minimal design and sound effects as if it was 30 years old standing in a basement. What more can you demand?

I choose a game called Double Bonus Poker and start playing. The smallest stake is £0,25 per coin and I bet the maximum amount of 5 coins to have a shot at the biggest win which is 4000 coins if you hit a Royal Flush.

To win you need at least a pair of Jacks. It is ordinary poker hands that pay and you will see the full pay table when you play. After each win you have the opportunity to gamble or collect your money. I am trying a few too many times to double my wins and I am now down at £258.

Ohh, i miss a Royal Flush with only one card. I hit J-A of hearts but miss the ten of hearts. The game moves really quickly and if you want you can play hundreds of hands per hour. Time for a nice win soon, the bank roll is moving down slowly.

There we go, I hit a full house and click collect. I don’t want to gamble that win. It takes me back to £265, almost back where I started. I have to say that there is a lot of action playing Video Poker. A few more minutes, then I’ll end today´s session.

Now I get 6, 7, 9, T of hearts and I hold the cards of course. 8 of hearts would win me 250 coins. I miss the straight flush but hit the flush, and I am back at £270.

I forgot to tell you about the opportunity to hold any cards after the initial round. The game proposes which cards you should hold but you can of course set it manually. To hold a single A does not feel too exciting.

I have some luck with my gambles towards the end and I close the game down with a bank roll of £268. I can live with the £2 loss.

I have not played the other Video Poker games at Videoslots.com, but at a first glance they all look the same. I’ll have a re-match on those later on. The coming days I will play through all our different categories, Blackjack, Slots, Videoslots, Roulette, Scratch Cards and Other Games. Some variation is always nice.
